Identifying Momentum Trading Signals

Entering a long position is considered justified only if the main ADX line begins to rise at the moment of the crossover or shortly after. This confirms that buyers are not only active but possess enough power to build market inertia. Configuring Parameters for Different Timeframes
The standard period for ADX calculation is 14. This parameter is considered optimal for daily charts, providing a balance between sensitivity and filtering out market noise. However, for intraday trading on H1 or M15 timeframes, traders often use a period of 10 or 12 to react faster to volatility changes. When analyzing long-term (W1) charts, the period may be increased to 20.
