Mathematical Logic of Double Smoothing
The core difference between the TMA and its counterparts lies in its unique averaging method. Essentially, the TMA is the result of applying a double smoothing process to a simple moving average. While the SMA assigns equal weight to every point within the selected period, and the EMA emphasizes recent values, the TMA distributes weights according to a triangular distribution.
